Creative Writing Workshop with Tunku Halim

Tunku Halim, author of books such as 44 Cemetery Road, Gravedigger’s Kiss and the recently released Juriah’s Song conducted a creative writing workshop at The Booker Room in MPH Megastore 1 Utama on 20 January 2008. The aim of it was to provide an avenue for an experienced author to share his writing experiences with aspiring writers.

More than 20 participants ranging from as young as 16 to 50 grabbed the opportunity to learn a trick or two from the master of horror stories. The three-hour workshop covered the basics of writing from creating characters and dialogues to rewriting and self-editing. The eager participants even read excerpts of their work, and had an engaging discussion with Halim about being a writer and the writing scene in Malaysia before everyone parted with some useful knowledge about creative writing.

The creative writing course was organised by MPH Bookstores.
