Dr.
Lee Su Kim is an author, a previous newspaper columnist with The Star,
a freelance writer, a trainer as well as a university lecturer. She
is an Associate Professor of English at the School of Language Studies
and Linguistics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is of Straits Chinese
parentage and was born in Kuala Lumpur. She was educated in the Bukit
Bintang Girls School and obtained her B.A. and M.Ed degrees from
the University of Malaya. She lived for 4 year in Texas, the USA, where
she obtained her Doctorate in Education.
She is the authorof eight books including two
bestsellers, Malaysian Flavours (Second Edition: 2004) and Manglish:
Malaysian English at its Wackiest (1998). Her latest book, A Nyonya
In Texas: Insights of a Straits Chinese Woman in the Lone Star State
(2007) is a hilarious and rib-tickling account of crosscultural encounters
between East and West.
